813,000 in Massachusetts qualify for student loan debt relief


BOSTON — The White House has released state-by-state data on eligibility for federal student loan forgiveness.

In Massachusetts, 813,000 people will have up to $10,000 forgiven of their debt and 401,200 to $20,000 wiped out for being a Pell Grant recipient.

The U.S. Department of Education will release more information about how to get the money in the coming weeks.
