Athenian charged with car wash robbery


September 21 — ATHENS — Police say a 21-year-old man from Athens has been identified as the suspect in the reported robbery at a car wash in Athens on Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities have charged Cameron Jamal Turner with first-degree theft and two counts of second-degree assault, according to prison records. Turner is charged with robbing workers at the Wash N Shine car wash at 1214 US 31 S. Police said the suspect fired a gun during the robbery before fleeing. He was later taken into custody on McClellan Street.

Turner is in the Limestone County Jail with no bail listed. The investigation is continuing, police said.
