Democrats and President Biden continued their incredible streak of achievements as Majority Leader Schumer announced a deal on the Inflation Reduction Act.
Majority leader Schumer said in a statement to PoliticusUSA:
I am pleased to report that we have reached an agreement on the Inflation Reduction Act that I believe will have the support of the entire Democratic Senate Conference. I have had many productive discussions with members of our conference over the past three days and we have discussed some of the key issues they have raised.
The agreement preserves key elements of the Inflation Reduction Act, including reducing the cost of prescription drugs, combating climate change, closing tax loopholes exploited by big business and the wealthy, and curbing the deficit by $300 billion. The final version of the reconciliation law, due Saturday, will reflect this work and bring us one step closer to enacting this landmark legislation.
Here is a list of Biden’s most significant achievements:
If this deal succeeds, Biden will have won on:
drug prices
Climate/ACA $$
Higher corporate taxes
$1.9 Billion Covid Rescue Plan
$1.2T Infrastructure Act
New gun law
Chips/Chinese bill
KBJ on SCOTUS
73+ lower judges
VAWA re-up
post reformThis is not a trivial agenda.

Democrats went from appearing incapable of winning a 50/50 Senate to beating great achievement after great achievement. Democrats have done things that have supported the nation for decades. Democrats bailed out the USPS, passed gun reform and passed a bill to lower the prices of prescription drugs.
A shift in strategy from trying to shoot for the stars with their legislation to understanding the realities of the 50/50 Senate and getting things done has led to an impressive record of achievements over the past few months.
The passage of the Inflation Reduction Act means that Democrats have performed and now have an impressive agenda to move forward into November.
