New BMW 3 Series facelift set to get subtle styling updates soon
The BMW 3 Series facelift is set to make its world debut this year and images of the next premium compact sedan have leaked online ahead of its world debut. The car we see in these pictures is the long wheelbase or Gran Limousine version of the 3 Series. Now on to the changes, the new 3 Series facelift is likely to get some subtle styling updates. and we’re quite relieved the Bavarian automaker didn’t choose to go with the obnoxious bulbous grille, which we’ve seen on other BMW models lately.

As the images suggest, the front of the new 3 Series is quite clean and gets new headlights, a revised grille with chrome inserts, reworked bumpers and larger air curtains. The profile of the sedan looks almost identical, but the new car is expected to come with a new set of alloy wheels. Even at the rear, the updated 3 Series gets a modified bumper and the M Sport trim should also have visible exhausts. Now, we still don’t have any pictures of the cabin, but it’s unlikely there will be any major changes. Expect a larger, more high-tech infotainment system and a new digital instrument cluster along with new trim options.

Mechanically, the new BMW 3 Series should remain unchanged. So expect the same 2.0-liter petrol and diesel engines to be offered on the 3 Series and 3 GL. That said, the performance-focused BMW M340i will feature the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new BMW 3 Series will continue to compete with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4, Volvo S60 and Jagaur XE.
