BTS’s Jungkook poses as an ‘Indian politician’ when Jimin, V, RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jin meet Joe Biden at the White House


Recently, BTS members Jungkook, Jimin, Jin, J-Hope, Suga, V, and RM met with US President Joe Biden at the White House to discuss hate crimes against Asians. The White House photos and videos have gone viral on social media.

However, what caught everyone’s attention was that Jungkook was impersonating an Indian politician. He greeted the media with clasped hands and the video went viral on social media. Undoubtedly, the members of BTS never fail to win her heart with their sweet gestures.

The meeting comes as May’s recognition of Asian American and Hawaiian/Pacific Islander month draws to a close amid a sharp rise in hate crimes against Asian Americans over the past past year.

Attacks on people of Asian descent have intensified as some politicians and experts have encouraged Americans to blame China for COVID-19, amid other tensions. K-pop stars have been known to use their lyrics and social campaigns aimed at empowering young people since their debut in 2013. Their fan base extends into older demographics, tying their buying power to a generation that is internet savvy and able to harness the power of social media.

In June 2020, the band’s fans put their energy behind an online campaign called #MatchAMillion to raise money for social justice causes in the United States. It grossed $1 million in about a day, matching the band’s donation itself to Black Lives Matter.

The group’s management, Big Hit Music, said they were honored to be invited to the White House.
