Coast Guard Cutter Eagle open for public tours at Pier 86


NEW YORK — America’s Tall Ship sails to New York Harbor.

The US Coast Guard Cutter Eagle arrived Thursday morning and anchored near the Statue of Liberty.

At 295 feet in length, Eagle is the largest large vessel, which is a modern term for a traditionally rigged sailing vessel.

The ship will be at Pier 86 near the Intrepid from Friday through Sunday for free public tours.

Tours are available on Fridays from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Military personnel and first responders with a valid ID can participate in guided tours on Saturday and Sunday one hour before the indicated tour times.
