Cristiano Ronaldo Will Bring Football Fans To Web3 With Binance Partnership

Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has signed an exclusive multi-year non-fungible token (NFT) partnership with crypto exchange Binance. The collaboration aims to introduce football fans to the Web3 ecosystem through global NFT campaigns.

In the announcement sent to TSWT, Binance noted that the deal involves creating a series of NFT collections with Ronaldo. These will be sold exclusively on the Binance NFT platform, with the first collection releasing later this year.

Changpeng Zhao, CEO and Founder of Binance, hailed Ronaldo’s achievements in football and mentioned that the athlete has “transcended sports to become an icon across multiple industries.” Zhao also said that:

“He’s built one of the most dedicated fanbases in the world through his authenticity, talent and charity work.”

Zhao added that the Binance team is excited to offer Ronaldo fans “exclusive engagement opportunities to connect with Ronaldo” as they own coins from the NFT collections. Meanwhile, the soccer superstar also commented on the upcoming NFT drops, saying fans will surely appreciate them. Ronaldo also explained:

“My relationship with fans is very important to me, so the idea of bringing unprecedented experiences and access through this NFT platform is something I wanted to be a part of.”

In March, Ronaldo received crypto tokens for his achievements in sports. The soccer star received JUV tokens, the official Juventus FC fan token, for every senior career goal he scored.

Despite the current crypto winter, the CEO of Binance expressed his positivity earlier in June. Confidently, Zhao noted that this is its third crypto winter and Binance’s second encounter with this type of market situation, implying that the team knows how to navigate a bear market. Other than that, the CEO of Binance said he would use this as an opportunity to hire the best talent available during this time.
