Indian para table tennis star and Tokyo Paralympics medalist Bhavina Patel confirmed a new medal for her country as she stormed into the women’s singles final after beating England’s Sue Bailey in the semi-finals at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Friday. . Bhavina was the star of the Indian para table tennis team when she defeated her opponent 3-0 in her women’s singles class 3-5 match. She won Bailey 11-6, 11-6, 11-6 in just three games and secured another medal for India.
Bhavina Patel reached the semi-finals of the women’s singles category after defeating Fiji’s Akanisi Latu in her third match of the tournament at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Thursday.
In her women’s singles class 3-5, she defeated Latu 11-1, 11-5, 11-1. Bhavina was domination personified as she crushed her opponent in straight sets.
On the other hand, Raj Aravindan and Sonalben Patel crashed out of singles after losing in the semi-finals.
Raj lost his semifinal to Naslru Sule 1-3. Sule came out victorious 11-7, 8-11, 4-11, 7-11 in his men’s singles classes 3-5 match. Raj got off to a good start and won his first game convincingly. But he suddenly lost momentum and crashed to defeats in the next three games and lost the match.
Raj Aravindan Alagar had also booked his ticket to the semi-finals after beating England’s Dan Bullen in his third game of the campaign.
Raj played his men’s singles class 3-5 match and won it 11-5, 11-2, 9-11, 11-2.
Sonalben Patel also lost her semifinal to Christina Ikepoye from Nigeria. She lost 1-3 to Ikepoye.
Sonalben had a good start and won her first game 11-8. But her next games were not good and she lost them 6-11, 4-11, 7-11 and was eliminated in women’s singles.
