PF (Provisioning Fund) account holders know how to set up a UAN . have to make
The Universal Account Number is a 12-digit code assigned by the Employees Provident Fund Organization to the members of the Provident Fund account.
Unlike the EPF account number and member ID, which change when employees transfer their jobs from one organization to another, UAN remains unchanged.
An employer must generate a UAN number for an employee when the company has twenty or more employees.
The employee at the time of joining a new organization must provide his UAN to the employer.
Using UAN, EPFO members can manage their fund account and perform tasks such as checking EPF balance, submitting PF loan applications and submitting withdrawal requests online without physical paperwork.
The UAN is usually on the pay slip; However, if the employer has not shared the 12-digit code with you, it can be generated online.
In order to create your UAN while registering with the EPFO for the first time, the employee must present their ID, proof of address, bank account details, Permanent Account Number (PAN), Aadhaar and ESIC (Employee State Insurance Corporation) card.
