Indian Premier League: Punjab Kings message for Virat Kohli is a huge hit on Instagram | Cricket News

The Punjab Kings emerged victorious on Friday night, beating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 54 points at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai to keep their hopes of qualifying for the IPL 2022 qualifiers alive. The big win over RCB also provided a boost much needed at the net run rate of PBKS. Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone starred for PBKS with the bat while Kagiso Rabada was the star with the ball in hand. Apart from their off-pitch performances, the Punjab Kings are also winning hearts off the pitch, with their post for Virat Kohli going viral on Instagram.

In the second set, the Punjab Kings bowlers came under early pressure with Virat Kohli looking in good form. However, the RCB star was dismissed by Rabada for 20 out of 14 balls.

Kohli’s poor run with the bat continued in IPL 2022 but to their credit, the Punjab Kings had some comforting words for the star hitter.

“Virat Kohli, even we enjoyed it while it lasted. Hope luck turns on your side soon,” Punjab Kings wrote on Instagram with a picture of a frustrated Kohli to accompany it.

The post garnered over 145,000 likes and many praised PBKS for their post.

“Appreciate your post,” wrote one Instagram user.

“I want Punjab to win…but it hurts to see Kohli struggling??…wish luck will support him in the upcoming matches and specially the world cup,” wrote another.

“What a sweet gesture, hope he comes back soon,” said another user.

“rcb fan but punjab won hearts,” another fan wrote.

On Friday, PBKS after being put at bat, posted 209 for nine in 20 overs. Jonny Bairstow threw 66 of 29 balls while Liam Livingstone crushed 70 of just 42 balls.

Harshal Patel took four wickets for RCB while Wanindu Hasaranga added two.

In the chase, a few RCB hitters started but failed to start from there. In the end, Glenn Maxwell was his team’s top scorer with 35 from 22 balls as RCB were limited to 155 for nine in their 20 overs.
