St Barth, no island makes you dream more. The French Caribbean island is famous for its pristine beaches, lively food scene and that “je ne sais quoi” of the French Caribbean atmosphere. In recent years, the island has experienced a boom in the development and construction of spectacular villas. Villa Embrace is today the most spectacular luxury villa on the island. It’s not just a villa, it’s a destination in itself.
Located at the entrance to Gustavia, carved into the mountainside, the villa overlooks the port and is ideally located, just 5 minutes walk from the city. An ideal location, even more so in high season when traffic to get into town at night can be very difficult.
The four-story private residence offers panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and Gustavia, five suites and two infinity pools. One of them reaching 100 feet is among the tallest in St Barths. A very exclusive and secluded destination. Embrace is the brainchild of Canadian couple Martin and Michelle Weinberg, who discovered the island 14 years ago and immediately fell in love with it. They wanted to build the best of the best luxury villa on their beloved island, reflecting their respect for nature and their passion for design and art. Done well, the villa is a bold take on the luxury villa experience.
Inside the villa, nature takes over: lush foliage, waterfall, topiary garden and a green wall. To immerse yourself in this greenery, ride inside the island’s only four-story glass elevator. The airy design of the villa merges completely with its external environment. The five suites are designed to invite nature indoors with clean lines and natural materials. The boundary between inside and outside is always blurred. Nature is the focal point of the villa. India Madhavi, B&B Italian furniture, hand-stitched French leather wardrobes from TTTrunks or handcrafted Indian silk rugs adorn the suites with their private exotic terrace. Outdoor showers open onto lush greenery and offer endless sea views while floor-to-ceiling windows disappear into the walls. Incredible.
An on-site butler is available 24/7 to help with anything you might need. Add a private chef, daily maid service and of course a state of the art security system. Breakfast is served every morning while planning the day on the island or spending free time at the villa enjoying Technogym equipment or a massage inside the outdoor massage suite. There are plenty of options. The chef of the house is at your disposal whatever you want and when you want. Exquisite dining in the main dining room – where design includes Casa Fendi bar stools and a custom nautical-inspired table by Italian Barbarini & Gunnell – accompanied by exclusive wines from the villa’s extensive cellar. A dinner around a bonfire on the Salines beach can even be organized for you. You just have to ask.
The living spaces for meeting, dining or relaxing are amazing. The Great Room, Family Room, or Game Room feature exceptional furnishings and artwork. Italian sofas, handmade silk rugs, black walnut leather desk, Vladimir Kagan armchairs with an exceptional leather TTTrunks game table that includes chess, poker, dominoes and much more. Throughout the villa, works on display include a series of nudes by Roy Lichtenstein and pieces by Andy Warhol and have been owned by the owner for decades.
To experience Villa Embrace, a minimum stay of seven days/nights is required. Rates vary from 150k to 450k dollars per week, depending on the season. During the Christmas period, the villa is the best place on the island, especially on New Year’s Eve, to admire the fireworks and see the most exclusive yachts entering the port of Gustavia.
Villa Embrace is every bit as exceptional as the tiny Caribbean island and quite possibly the most incredible private villa in the world.
