IPL 2022: Josh Hazlewood conceded 64 points in his four overs quota against PBKS© BCCI/IPL
Royal Challengers point guard Josh Hazlewood has been a consistent performer for the franchise in the current 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) season but the bowler was not at his best against the Punjab Kings and he has achieved 64 points in his quota of four. As a result, Hazlewood recorded the most expensive spell of any bowler in the current season as the Punjab Kings posted 209/9 from 20 overs. RCB was unable to pursue the target as they were 54 points short.
Liam Livingstone and Jonny Bairstow have taken a special liking to Hazlewood and the pacesetter did plenty against the Punjab Kings.
In his first over of the match, Hazlewood made 22 runs, while in his last over he made 24 runs.
Before Hazlewood, SunRisers Hyderabad point guard Marco Jansen suffered the most expensive fate this season as he conceded 63 runs in four overs.
In the match against PBKS, Hazlewood also recorded the worst spell of any RCB bowler. Before him, Shane Watson had the worst fate of any RCB player as he conceded 61 points against SunRisers Hyderabad in the 2016 final.
In the match between PBKS and RCB, the former struck first and posted 209/9 in 20 overs. Liam Livingstone and Jonny Bairstow had shots of 70 and 66. For RCB, Harshal Patel returned with four wickets. Mohammed Siraj had a bad day at the office as he gave up 36 runs in 2 overs.
RCB fell 54 from target as Kagiso Rabada scalped three wickets for the Punjab Kings.
