‘Multiple’ teenagers are charged in battle with football match

August 27—JOHNSTOWN, Dad. – “Multiple” teens will be charged by the juvenile court on Friday for their role in a fight in a Trojan Stadium football game, Johnstown police said.

The exact number of minors was not known on Saturday, but each will be charged with disorderly conduct, rioting and resisting arrest, Johnstown Police Captain Chad Miller said.

A day earlier, police said the fight broke out between two youths, but soon grew to a crowd of nearly 100 people, including adults over 18, during a rain delay that halted Greater Johnstown’s season-opening game against Penn Cambria.

Five police officers and the district’s school resources were able to stop the fight.

The Johnstown Police Department is still investigating the incident this weekend.

Greater Johnstown Superintendent Amy Arcurio said the students involved will be evicted for the act.
