Sheriff charges woman with fatal overdose


June 22 – TRINITY – A woman has been charged with supplying drugs that led to a fatal overdose in the early spring.

Ivey Tatum Elswick, 21, was arrested on Tuesday for felony death by distribution. His bail was set at $30,000 guaranteed.

The charge relates to a March 17 death on Erik Drive in Trinity, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said.

The name of the deceased and any other information about the overdose have not been released.
