All lanes of eastbound Highway 10 in Redlands were closed Tuesday night after a shooting in Fontana and a subsequent police chase.
A SigAlert closing the Tennessee Street lanes would be in place indefinitely, according to the California Highway Patrol. Traffic was diverted onto Highway 210.
The Times could not immediately reach a Fontana police spokesperson to confirm the reports of the shooting or the chase.
The shooting and chase took place after officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 15 at Sierra Avenue, according to KABC-TV Channel 7.
It was unclear whether the police or the suspect had fired the shot, the station reported. The chase ended when officers performed a PIT maneuver, hitting the rear of the fleeing vehicle to turn it around.
Authorities have requested an ambulance for the driver and a female passenger, according to the station. Their conditions were not known.
Further information was not immediately available.
