The source told People: ‘They have fun together, as well as being each other’s rock’.
“They are both passionate but really bring out the best in each other. As a family, they all have such an amazing bond.
“A lot of things have happened over the past few years and like everyone else in the world, these things have all been a reminder of what is precious to them.”
Simon, who has never been married, previously admitted he never saw himself dating again as he opened up about changing his mind about marriage after falling in love with Lauren.
He said he decided to propose to his longtime girlfriend in January after feeling like they were already engaged while living together during lockdown.
He described the Covid-19 pandemic as a “watershed” moment for relationships and said the lockdown had helped him and Lauren grow closer and realize how well they got on.
He told The Sun: ‘I couldn’t see myself ever dating anyone again. The idea of going out on a first date right now is too weird.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge revealed another reason he decided to propose was because he felt it was the right thing to do for their eight-year-old son Eric.
