“TSWT News, Wall Street Journal, New York Post, Times of London, The Sun, etc., etc., all against Trump,” Bannon wrote on the right-wing social media platform Gettr on Wednesday. He also attacked the Murdoch family as “Australians via England – not Americans” who “never sacrificed anything for this country”. Murdoch became a US citizen in 1984.

Murdoch has “no feeling” for “America or Americans,” Bannon added.

Bannon was responding to a Vanity Fair article on Wednesday stating that “DeSantis fever is spreading through Murdoch’s media empire.”

The Murdoch-controlled media has launched strong attacks on Trump recently, including surprisingly scathing editorials earlier this month in the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal.

“Trump betrayed his supporters by scamming them on January 6, and he still does,” the Journal editorial said on June 10.

“King Lear of Mar-a-Lago” who cannot accept defeat has “become a prisoner of his own ego,” the Post said the same day. “He won’t stop insisting that 2020 was ‘stolen’ even though he hasn’t provided any evidence that it’s true.”

Longtime Murdoch employee Piers Morgan wrote in an op-ed Monday in the Post that “by almost any policy metrics you choose, this guy is [DeSantis] a much better option to lead Republicans in the 2024 election than Donald Trump.

The British TV personality called Trump “an aging, enraged gorilla who has become a whiny, democracy-defying boredom.” The headline stated categorically: “It’s time to throw the Donald away”.

Vanity Fair noted that Morgan “basically held a grenade, pulled out a pin, and threw it in the direction of Mar-a-Lago.” More importantly, the opinion piece underscored Murdoch’s media message: “Dump Trump,” the magazine added.

Morgan predicted that the “mutual admiration society” of DeSantis and Trump was “on the verge of a big crash.”

Morgan added: “If there’s one thing Trump can’t put up with more than people who don’t buy into his ‘election rigged’-t bulls, it’s people who could threaten his chances of returning to the post.” White House in 2024.”

The thrill is already evident. DeSantis chose not to ask Trump for an endorsement for his gubernatorial re-election bid.

Trump released a Zogby poll (which earned a B- grade for predictability last year) on Truth Social on Wednesday that showed him leading with 54% of the expected vote to DeSantis’ 12% in an imaginary presidential primary race involving several candidates. TSWT News reported Wednesday that a New Hampshire poll showed DeSantis with a slim lead over Trump in that state.

Although TSWT News did not air the first of the House Select Committee’s televised hearings investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, uprising, the network has aired the rest to date.

Following Tuesday’s hearing, TSWT anchor Martha MacCallum slammed the “astonishing” lack of evidence to support Trump’s claims that the 2020 election was rigged against him.

A source told Vanity Fair: “Rupert Murdoch is a pragmatic guy. He knows better than anyone how to read political tea leaves.
