It was a one-game thriller, which could have gone either way. In a T20 Blast match on Tuesday, the Somerset side managed by Tom Abel scored 144/8 in 20 against Surrey. Chasing the goal of 145 points, the team led by Chris Jordan headed for the target until they needed nine in the final. Experienced Australian fast bowler Peter Siddle received the most important with Surrey on 136/4 and then bizarre incidents occurred.
On the first delivery of the over, Siddle conceded a point, then on the very next delivery, fired Jordan. On the third ball, Nico Reifer hit a four but was then kicked out on the next ball. Siddle then fired Gus Atkinson from his fifth delivery. At the time, Surrey needed four points on the final delivery, but Siddle was in terrific form. However, Conor McKerr hit a boundary from the last ball to help his side win by three wickets.

Meanwhile, former West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard has been ruled out of the rest of the T20 blast after suffering a left knee injury early in Surrey’s campaign. Kieron Pollard was ruled out of the T20 Blast but should be fit in time to play in the Hundred. Despite treatment, his condition did not improve significantly and so it was decided to seek a surgical opinion. Surrey County Cricket Club signed the former all-rounder last month for their T20 Blast campaign this season.
Kieron Pollard said: “It’s hugely frustrating as we’ve been a dominant force and I felt like I was part of something special. But I wish the guys the best for the rest of the campaign as I get on. get back in shape and shoot again.”

Alec Stewart, director of cricket at Surrey CCC, said in an official statement: “We are disappointed to lose a player of Kieron’s quality and wish him a speedy recovery.”
“Despite the treatment, he did not improve significantly and so it was decided to get a surgical opinion. He underwent a successful operation this [Tuesday] morning that will keep him out of action for the next four to six weeks while he rehabilitates,” the statement added.
