It seems like everyone is heading back to the Hawaiian Islands these days, which means it’s harder than ever to delineate an oasis of calm – but our recent discovery of Timbers Kaua’i Ocean Club & Residences puts the serene luxury back on the agenda, front and center.
Although I’ve long known Timbers’ calling card as hosting ultra-luxury experiences in some of the world’s most beautiful locations, I had never visited the Kaua’i property, which is just minutes away. from Lihue Airport and yet worlds away from the busy tourist areas in either direction. Entering the field honestly felt like arriving in a hidden paradise in an ordinary site.

We arrived quite late, as our flight had been delayed, but we were nevertheless greeted by welcoming staff with necklaces and cold drinks in hand, and they quickly located us so that we could all get into bed. Because it was pitch dark when we arrived at our three bedroom beachfront villa, we could hear the ocean but couldn’t see it – imagine the thrill of waking up to the view of Kuki’i Point (where a scene from jurassic park was filmed during a live storm!) and enjoying a coffee on the huge veranda. We also had a corner unit with a view of the Ninini Point Lighthouse.
