WWE NXT star Solo Sikoa has been regularly punished on television since his debut.
Sikoa, whose real name is Joseph Fatu, is the son of Rikishi and the younger brother of Jimmy & Jey Uso (Jonathan & Joshua Fatu). He signed with WWE last year.
While speaking with BT Sport, Solo revealed before he made his NXT TV debut, WWE was considering putting him with The Usos on SmackDown, but he was hesitant about it and they put him in NXT instead.
“You know, at the end of the day man, it’s so easy to go back to ‘I’m their brother, I’m their family.’ I don’t want to be called their brother, their cousin, I want people to recognize me for me Before I made my television debut, the creation of WWE was like “we’ll put you with your brothers”. Then the next meeting was like “let’s see what you can do for yourself”. I was like, “this is my time now”. This is the time for the fans to recognize me as than Solo instead of your Jimmy and Jey Before man I had black hair we all really looked alike Again nine months later people know oh it’s Solo it’s not Jimmy and Jey.
Solo was asked if his heart sank when they first told him they would put him with his brothers.
“I would say, ‘Okay, that would be cool.’ I think that’s when they started saying ‘this is us.’ I was like, ‘I don’t know the man.’ I would always feel like I was in their shadow, gotta go out and be a man.
Solo’s most recent match aired on Tuesday’s edition of WWE NXT 2.0 where he lost to Grayson Waller.
